🌟 Meet Mrs. Anita Shien – Founder, Educator, and a Mom Who Loves to Cook
Hi, I’m Anita.
I’ve been working in early childhood education for over 15 years, teaching in toddler, preschool, and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms. Over the years, I’ve learned that every age has its own magic—and every child grows in their own beautiful way.
I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and also a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts. Teaching and cooking may seem different, but to me, they come from the same place—caring for others. I love helping children learn, and I love nourishing them with healthy, home-prepared meals. Both are ways I show love.
In 2018, as both an educator and a mother, I had a dream.
I wanted to create a warm, high-quality program where children could naturally learn two or even three languages in a joyful, respectful environment. A place that feels like family, but with strong educational foundations.
That dream became Little Rainbow Bilingual Daycare.
Here, children are not rushed. They are guided.
They are not pressured. They are encouraged.
They are not just cared for. They are truly known.
To me, early childhood education is a priceless gift. It gives me the chance to love, to teach, to laugh, to serve, and to grow alongside children every single day.
I am deeply grateful to all the families who have trusted me over the years. Walking alongside so many wonderful children has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
我在幼兒教育領域已經超過 15 年，曾任教於幼幼班、幼兒園以及過渡幼稚園（TK）。這些年的教學經驗讓我深深體會到，每個年齡階段都有屬於它獨特的美好，而每個孩子也都以自己獨一無二的方式成長。
我擁有幼兒教育學位，同時也取得烹飪藝術學士學位。教學與料理看似不同，但對我來說，它們都來自同一個核心——那就是「用心照顧別人」。我喜歡陪伴孩子學習，也喜歡為他們準備健康、用心烹調的餐點。這兩件事，其實都是我表達愛的方式。
2018年，身為一位教育者，同時也是一位母親，我心中有了一個夢想。我希望創立一個溫暖而有品質的學習環境，讓孩子在快樂與尊重中，自然地學會第二語言，甚至第三語言。那是一個像家一樣溫馨，但同時具備扎實教育基礎的地方。
這個夢想，就是今天的小彩虹雙語托兒所。
在這裡，孩子不被催促，而是被引導。
不被施壓，而是被鼓勵。
不只是被照顧，而是真正被理解、被看見。
對我來說，幼兒教育是一份無價的禮物。
它讓我每天都有機會去愛、去教、去笑、去服務，也陪伴孩子一起成長。
我由衷感謝這些年來信任我的每一個家庭。能夠陪伴這麼多可愛又獨特的孩子成長，是我人生中最珍貴的祝福之一。
🌟 Our Story Today & Our team - the heart of Little Rainbow
One of the things I am most proud of at Little Rainbow is our beautiful, diverse team.Over the years, we have carefully built a group of teachers who truly love children and believe in our mission. Our team includes Mandarin-speaking teachers, Cantonese-speaking teachers, and wonderful educators from South America who bring Spanish language and rich cultural experiences into our classrooms.
Language at Little Rainbow isn’t just taught — it’s lived. Children hear different accents, celebrate different traditions, and grow up understanding that the world is beautifully diverse. But what makes our team truly special isn’t just the languages we speak.
It’s the way we work together.
We meet, we share ideas, and we constantly ask ourselves:
“How can we make tomorrow even more joyful for the children?”
“How can we improve? How can we grow?”
We laugh together.
We solve problems together.
We support one another like family.
Many of our teachers have been with Little Rainbow for years, and that consistency creates a sense of stability and security for the children. Our classrooms feel warm because the adults inside truly care about one another.
We don’t just work here.
We build this Daycare together.
Our teachers are not only colleagues — they become close friends, and in many ways, like family. We celebrate birthdays together, share stories about our own children, and support each other in life beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, every teacher at Little Rainbow truly loves this work. You can feel it the moment you walk in the door.
And when adults love what they do, children feel safe, happy, and inspired.
Almost six years have passed since Little Rainbow Bilingual Daycare first opened its doors.
Today, we are proud to have welcomed many children from future-minded, international families who moved to the Bay Area from all over the world.Our little graduates leave us speaking two or even three languages—and more importantly, with open hearts and a lifelong love for learning. At Little Rainbow, our team of passionate teachers finds joy and purpose in every day spent with children.
In 2023, we officially embraced the Montessori Method, redesigning our classrooms with beautiful Montessori materials and a child-centered environment. We are also proud to share that Mrs. Anita earned her International Montessori Teaching Diploma from NAMC, enriching our program even further.
Today, our curriculum serves children from 6 months to 5 years old, focusing on:
Practical Life skills
Sensorial development
Trilingual Language Arts (Chinese, English, and Spanish)
Early Math and Science
Montessori Philosophy in action
We are deeply grateful for the families who continue to support and trust us. Many parents have described Little Rainbow as the most loving and enriching daycare/preschool experience they’ve ever had—and we are honored to be a part of each child’s precious early years.
在小彩虹，我最驕傲的其中一件事，就是我們這個溫暖又多元的老師團隊。這些年來，我們很用心地慢慢建立一個真正愛孩子、也認同我們理念的團隊。現在的老師有說普通話的、有說廣東話的，也有來自南美洲、帶來西班牙語和豐富文化背景的老師。
在小彩虹，語言不是「教」出來的，而是每天自然地生活在其中。孩子會聽到不同的語調、接觸不同的文化，也在日常中慢慢理解，原來世界是這麼多元、這麼美好。
但其實，讓我們團隊真正特別的，不只是會說幾種語言。
而是我們怎麼一起工作。我們會一起開會、一起討論、一起想辦法，常常問自己：「明天怎麼讓孩子更開心一點？」、「我們還能怎麼做得更好？」、「怎樣可以陪孩子走得更穩、更遠？」
我們一起笑。
一起解決問題。
也像家人一樣彼此支持。
很多老師都已經在小彩虹很多年了，這份穩定，讓孩子感到安心，也讓家長放心。教室裡的溫度，其實來自老師之間的關係——因為我們真的彼此關心。
我們不只是來上班。
我們是一起把這個托兒所慢慢建立起來。
老師們不只是同事，久了之後變成好朋友，也像家人一樣。我們會一起慶祝生日，分享生活中的大小事，也會彼此鼓勵、互相照顧。最重要的是，每一位在小彩虹的老師，都是真心喜歡這份工作的。這種感覺，家長一走進門就能感受到。
當大人熱愛自己在做的事情，孩子自然會感到安全、快樂，也更願意學習。
🌈 我們的現在與未來
Before we knew it, Little Rainbow Bilingual Daycare has already been part of our community for seven years.
Over these seven years, we’ve had the joy of walking alongside many families who connected with us through language and culture. Many parents come here with familiar languages, shared backgrounds, and similar hopes for their children—and they find a sense of comfort and belonging at Little Rainbow.
We’re more than just a daycare.
We’re a place where families can communicate in a language that feels like home, and where people truly understand one another.
We’ve watched children grow from saying their very first words to expressing themselves with confidence. We’ve seen shy little ones become brave explorers of the world.
Our graduates don’t just leave speaking two or even three languages. More importantly, they leave with kind hearts, confidence, and a love for learning. That is what we treasure most, and what makes us most proud.
At Little Rainbow, our teachers walk into the classroom each day with warmth and genuine joy. To us, education isn’t just a job—it’s a calling to guide, support, and grow alongside children.
In 2023, we officially embraced the Montessori philosophy and redesigned our classrooms to be more orderly, beautiful, and child-centered. With authentic Montessori materials, children are able to explore freely while also learning structure, focus, and independence.
We are also proud to share that Mrs. Anita earned her International Montessori Teaching Diploma from NAMC, further strengthening and enriching our program.
Today, we serve children from 6 months to 5 years old. Our program focuses on:
• Building independence through practical life skills
• Developing concentration through sensorial exploration
• Trilingual language learning (Chinese, English, and Spanish)
• Early math and science foundations
• Living the Montessori philosophy in everyday learning
For the past seven years, we have been deeply grateful for the trust and support of our families.
Many parents have shared that at Little Rainbow, they found more than a daycare—they found a place where they can speak their language, feel understood, and truly belong.
It is our greatest honor to be part of these precious early years in a child’s life.
And as we look ahead, we will continue walking alongside more families—growing together, learning together, and shining together. 🌈
轉眼之間，小彩虹雙語托兒所已經走過七個年頭。七年的時間，我們陪伴許多家庭，因為語言與文化而相遇。許多家長帶著熟悉的語言、相同的背景與期待來到這裡，在小彩虹找到一份安心與歸屬。我們不只是托兒所，更像是一個能用同樣語言交流、彼此理解的地方。我們見證孩子從牙牙學語到自信表達，從害羞內向到勇敢探索世界。我們的小小畢業生，不僅能自然使用兩種甚至三種語言，更重要的是，他們擁有一顆溫暖、自信、願意學習的心。這是我們最珍惜、也最驕傲的地方。在小彩虹，老師們每天都帶著熱情與笑容走進教室。對我們來說，教育不只是工作，而是一份用心陪伴的使命。
2023年，我們正式導入蒙特梭利教育理念，重新打造更有秩序與美感的教室環境，選用經典的蒙特梭利教具，讓孩子在自由與規範並存的空間中，自主探索、專注學習。
我們也很自豪地分享，Anita 老師已取得 NAMC 國際蒙特梭利教學文憑，讓整體課程更加專業、更加扎實。
目前，小彩虹服務 6個月到5歲的孩子，課程核心包含：
• 生活自理能力與獨立性的培養
• 感官探索與專注力發展
• 三語語文學習（中文、英文、西文）
• 幼兒數學與自然科學啟蒙
• 落實在日常中的蒙特梭利精神
七年來，我們最感謝的是每一位家長的信任與支持。
很多家長說，在小彩虹，他們不只是找到托兒所，而是找到一個可以用熟悉語言溝通、彼此理解的地方。
能參與孩子人生最純真、最珍貴的童年時光，是我們最大的榮幸。
